Ever After Reimagined is based on Piper Hutson's love of creating mixed-media pieces started with an obsession with all things Victorian. The era’s love of overly elegant jewelry was inspired by an acceptance of death which spurred an unusual sense of the macabre and mourning. Her goal in each piece that she creates is to give new life to items that have lost their spark or would otherwise be overlooked. She has always had a knack of finding the beauty in everyday and mundane objects; hence animal bones mixed with jewels from another era fit her aesthetic perfectly. She takes a creature that would otherwise be lost in the world, whether hit by busy modern vehicles and left to decompose on a highway, or the small bugs and vertebrates that have reached the end of their life cycle, and attempt to turn them into a work of inspiration and wearable art.
